Job summary

The NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator for Hunter Local Land Services. You will lead planning and preparation for responses to biosecurity and natural disaster emergencies, building strong relationships with regional stakeholders and landholders to prevent, prepare, respond and recover.

This is a temporary full-time position with hybrid work and a salary from AU$116,981 per year plus super.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in emergency response management situations.
• Ability to negotiate with stakeholders and customers.
• Ability to plan and make recommendations with respect to preparedness for, response to, and recovery from biosecurity and natural disaster emergencies affecting land managers.
• Previous experience in managing and undertaking a range of projects to achieve outcomes.
• Have a current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel including overnight stays.

What will my day look like?

At Hunter Local Land Services (LLS) we are committed to maximising the effectiveness of our emergency management obligations to landholders and the community impacted by biosecurity and natural disaster events. We are seeking a high achiever to help us deliver our core obligations in this area and to join our highly respected team that values its employees and their contributions.

As our Emergency Management Coordinator, you will be pivotal in the planning and preparation for Hunter Local Land Services' response to natural disaster and biosecurity emergencies. You will be part of the Hunter Partnerships Team and will form productive relationships with regional stakeholders and provide advice to landholders to implement effective prevention, preparedness, response and recovery actions.

What you need to do this role:

• Demonstrated experience in emergency response management situations
• Ability to negotiate with stakeholders and customers
• Ability to plan and make recommendations with respect to preparedness for, response to, and recovery from, biosecurity and natural disaster emergencies impacting land managers
• Previous experience in managing and undertaking a range of projects and associated activities with a view to achieving outcomes
• Have a current NSW Driver License and the ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
