Job summary

HealthX is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) for short‑term travel contracts across New South Wales. Earn up to $68.49/hr plus super, penalties, and a $1,600 completion bonus. Travel, accommodation and daily living allowance are provided.

Contracts range from 6–12 weeks with potential extensions across metropolitan, regional, rural and coastal NSW hospitals. Provide high‑quality emergency nursing care in fast-paced EDs, collaborating with local clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
• Minimum one year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification and strong resuscitation/triage skills.
• Ability to manage acute presentations and recognise clinical deterioration.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive emergency and acute nursing care.
• Conduct triage, resuscitation and emergency interventions.
• Perform cannulation, venepuncture and medication administration.
• Monitor patients and respond promptly to clinical deterioration with escalation as needed.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation per NSW Health policies.
• Support safe patient flow, handovers and continuity of care.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and local procedures.

You will deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care in fast-paced Emergency Departments, working collaboratively with local clinical teams to support patients across a range of emergency and acute presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) – Goulburn, Queanbeyan, Bega, Batemans Bay, Cooma and surrounding communities.
• Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) – Lismore, Grafton, Ballina, Byron Bay and surrounding coastal and rural communities.
• Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) – Newcastle, Tamworth, Armidale, Moree and surrounding communities.
• Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) – Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst, Broken Hill and surrounding regional communities.

What you’ll need

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).

• Confidence managing acute presentations and recognising clinical deterioration.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
