Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an Electromagnetic Effects Test Engineer to perform EMI/EMC testing at the Brisbane Test Facility in Wacol. The role involves executing tests across defence and commercial programs, developing test procedures, and delivering reports with a focus on MIL-STD-461 compliance.

You will work in a collaborative environment with engineers and technicians, applying automated test software and RF equipment to generate accurate data and insights for project teams.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree qualification in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years' experience in applying relevant engineering practices, standards and regulations.
• Desirable previous experience with MIL-STD-461/464.
• Desirable knowledge of test facility compliance in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
• Previous EMI/EMC test experience in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct EMI/EMC test per customer requirements across defence and commercial programs.
• Improve EMI/EMC test procedures and work instructions.
• Use EMC test equipment and RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
• Use automated test software to collect data and generate test reports.
• Test in semi-anechoic chambers and shielded rooms.
• Know emission and susceptibility testing configurations meeting MIL-STD-461.
• Perform HIRF, RF COSITE, Antenna Coupling & RADHAZ analyses and tests.
• Provide test schedule proposals with setups and cost estimates.
• Advise customers on EMI/EMC analysis and mitigation for standards compliance.
• Contribute to open, inclusive, innovative team culture.
