Job summary

EM Solutions, a Brisbane-based high-tech company, is seeking Systems Engineers to join our Defence Engineering Team. You will design, develop, integrate and verify Defence satellite communication systems onsite at our Queensland HQ.

The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and Defence stakeholders, with security clearance (Australian Citizen, ability to obtain NV1). You will contribute to system tests, reviews, and product-life support.

EM Solutions (EMS) is a Brisbane based growing high-tech company with operations across the globe and a world leader in the design and manufacture of “on-the-move” satellite communication terminals.

As a result of business growth. we have multiple new opportunities for Systems Engineers to join our Defence Engineering Team. You will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and verification of Defence satellite communication systems.

Security clearance: Australian Citizen required (ability to obtain NV1)

The role will require collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and Defence stakeholders.

What you will do

• Assist with the development of system level design documentation and associated engineering artefacts.
• Support the system bring up and calibration activities to prepare the system for factory acceptance testing
• Assist with the planning and conduct of factory acceptance testing
• Support ship integration and harbour acceptance testing
• Provide input into mandated system reviews with the customer as required by the contract
• Provide support to our Production team through the products life cycle.
• Support design, development, and testing of new products for EM Solutions

What you bring:

• Good knowledge of system engineering principles and requirement management approaches commonly used in Defence projects.
• Knowledge or a willingness to learn about system level design, signal processing, and satellite link for SATCOM terminal engineering.
• Ability to synthesise system-level requirements and communicate successfully to meet a range of stakeholder expectations, including Defence customers.
• Proficiency in scientific and mathematical modelling and tools sufficient to understand and explore how alternate technologies and techniques can be applied to create new products with a sustainable competitive advantage.

About you:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
• 5 to 7 years of relevant engineering experience in complex technical development and integration projects, preferably in the Defence industry
• Experience with using requirement databases such as DOOR or JAMA would highly regarded.
• Experience in hardware or software design, development and testing to support overall system capability.
