Job summary

Delos Data, a Cambridge, UK on-site role, is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to solve deployment and operational challenges in AI data center environments. You will work directly with a strategic customer, building features and runbooks while contributing to other deployments and RFPs.

Strong cloud-native and AI infra skills are essential. This is a hands-on role requiring 5+ years in infrastructure, deep Kubernetes/Slurm experience, and the ability to travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hands-on infrastructure engineering with customer exposure.
• Proven AI data center experience deploying GPU/XPU clusters and schedulers.
• Strong debugging and scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Experience with AI infra software like Kubernetes, Slurm, or similar.
• Deep Linux, containers, and API proficiency.
• Able to communicate clearly with engineers and leaders.
• Willing to work on-site with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner for a strategic customer’s production deployment.
• Work hands-on in the customer’s data center environment with GPU/XPU clusters.
• Lead integration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for production issues.
• Guide software upgrades, cluster expansion, and feature rollouts.
• Build docs, runbooks, and automation tailored to the customer.
• Collaborate with customer teams and our engineering to deliver features.
• Write and test code (Python, Bash, APIs) for field fixes.
• Provide feedback to product/engineering from field learnings.
• Contribute to RFPs, RFIs, and PoC deployments for new customers.
• Represent the company at customer briefings and industry events.
