Job summary

Rowville Sports Academy, part of Rowville Secondary College, seeks a Director of Coaching with elite coaching/playing background to lead a benchmark school sports program. You’ll oversee coaches, drive elite development, and align sports with academic pathways for students.

You will work with the RSA Operations Manager and Directors of Coaching to promote excellence, communicate with families, and ensure high standards in sport and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate elite coaching and/or playing experience at national or international level.
• Ability to develop and document an elite school sporting program aligned with RSA duties.
• Ability to select, oversee and hold coaches accountable to deliver a benchmark school sports program.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and RSA philosophy to engage families.
• Ability to work cooperatively with the RSA Operations Manager and Directors of Coaching.
• Strong communication skills with the school community.
• Commitment to student academic pathways alongside sporting development at Rowville Secondary College.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development of a sporting program reflecting RSA elite status.
• Communicate progress to students and families on program growth.
• Model exemplary program delivery across coaching sessions and activities.
• Employ and instruct coaching staff, aligning them with school values.
• Liaise with partner organisations for program delivery and standards.
• Collaborate with other Directors of Coaching to share ideas.
• Monitor student wellbeing and support academic catch-up when needed.
• Manage competition team selection criteria and communication to parents.
• Support budget through revenue-generating RSA events.
• Ensure inclusion of student needs, wellbeing and academic outcomes.
