Job summary

Global Service Pty Ltd t/a Miso Japanese Teishoku Restaurant in Sydney is seeking a skilled Japanese Chef to lead kitchen operations and craft authentic Japanese dishes.

You will develop menus, estimate food and labour costs, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure high-quality, consistent flavors across all creations. This is a full-time role with standard annual and sick leave, plus superannuation. Experience in traditional and modern techniques is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma including Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• At least 3 years’ work experience as a Japanese chef.
• Excellent cooking expertise in Japanese cuisine.

Responsibilities

• Developing new menu including estimating various costs for food and labour and coordinating supply of food stuff for kitchen
• Performing overall food preparation and directing kitchen staff
• Checking and ensuring quality and tastes of all dishes being prepared and cooked properly
• Conferring with other chefs, waiting staff and management on various food preparation issues
• Developing more efficient cooking procedures and applying cooking skills and techniques
