Job summary

Radlink Communications is seeking an experienced Communications/Electronics Technician to lead field activities and provide technical support for critical systems. The role involves installation, commissioning and maintenance of telecom equipment, with travel and FIFO/DIDO rosters typical for project work.

Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years in RF/Electronic setups, a trade qualification, and a current C‑Class licence.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification or higher as a Communications/Electronics Technician or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years’ experience on RF and Electronics Systems.
  • Current C-Class Drivers’ Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical scope within a site project team and deliver quality outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Provide technical advice, troubleshooting and support across operations and projects.
  • Install, commission and maintain critical telecommunications equipment and assets.
  • Support Field Team members to enhance capability and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and projects teams to develop client solutions.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports and provide updates to management and project teams.
  • Ensure all work complies with Radlink HSEQ policies and values.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Communication/Electronics Technicians to join our high-performing team. In this hands-on role, you will lead field technical activities and provide technical support to ensure the successful delivery and ongoing performance of critical communications systems.

This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Communications/Electronics Technician, you will:

  • Lead the technical scope in a highly skilled site project team to safely deliver quality outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Provide technical advice, troubleshooting and support across operational and project environments.
  • Technical Installation, commissioning and maintenance of critical telecommunications equipment and assets.
  • Support Field Team members to enhance capability and knowledge sharing.
  • Working with inhouse engineering and projects teams to develop technical solutions for clients.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports and provide regular updates to management and project teams.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Radlink's HSEQ policies, procedures and values.
About you
  • Brisbane or Mackay based preferred, however, consideration for some roles will be given to candidates in regional areas
  • Trade qualification or higher as a Communications/Electronics Technician or equivalent.
  • Must have a current C-Class Drivers’ License as a minimum
  • 2-5 years’ experience on RF and Electronic Systems
  • Experience in the following fields would be desirable:
    • Analogue and Digital Radio System
    • P25/Tetra/DMR
    • LTE/5G
    • Microwave, Point to Point / Point to Multi Point
    • DC Power Systems
  • Ability to assist other trades outside of your primary responsibility as needed.
  • Mine site experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability and drive to learn new skills and pick up on technical concepts quickly
  • Adaptable and agile to meet project and customer priorities
  • Availability to travel
  • Multiple roles are required to fulfill project FIFO/DIDO rosters (typically 8/6 or 12/9).
