Job summary

QinetiQ Australia in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician 1D to join our team in Fisherman's Bend. You will perform PCB population, fault finding, wiring, and enclosure fabrication, while working with engineers, project managers, and clients on complex systems.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications, IPC certifications, and have the ability to obtain NV1 clearance.

Qualifications

Australian Defence security clearance NV1 or ability to obtain.
Certificate III in Electronics and Communications.
IPC-610/IPC-7711/7721/IPC-620 certifications or ability to obtain.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Complete Surface Mount and Through-Hole PCB population and use of Pick and Place machines.
Rework/repair and fault finding of electronic assemblies.
Cabling and wire harness manufacturing including solder and crimp.
Enclosure fabrication oversight – front panel design and mounting.
Diagnose fault finding and repair legacy electronic equipment.
Apply multi-trade knowledge to commissioning and troubleshooting of complex systems.
Engage with clients and hold technical discussions on-site.
Follow engineering schematics and BOM configuration, provide feedback.
Lead safety, quality, security and leadership in projects.
