Job summary

The Design Technology Company, based in Melbourne, seeks an Electrical/Electromechanical Design Engineer to join our in-house team in North Melbourne. You will deliver complete electromechanical design packages from concept to manufacturing documentation for defence and industrial clients.

Strong CAD experience (AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical, EPLAN, Zuken) and a background in defence projects are highly preferred. Hybrid work and professional development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

Degree in electrical, electronic, mechatronic or electromechanical engineering.
3+ years designing electrical or electromechanical systems.
Hands-on experience with electrical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical, EPLAN, Zuken E3.series).
Experience producing harness, panel or wiring documentation for manufacture.
Working knowledge of Australian/international electrical standards.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for defence vehicles and vessels, grid storage, mobile power units and industrial machinery.
Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and harness drawings for manufacture.
Design control panels, enclosures and power distribution with component selection and sizing.
Collaborate with mechanical team on cable routing, connector placement and thermal management in 3D.
Integrate sensors, actuators, motors and control hardware into mechanical designs.
