Job summary

Siemens Mobility on the Gold Coast is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern (1st or 2nd year) to join our Electrification & Automation team in Yatala from January 2027. The role is part-time (16–24 hours/week) for a two-year paid internship.

Eligibility requires Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. You’ll build prototypes, test mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems, write test plans to IEC standards, analyze data with programming, and document findings to

Qualifications

• First- or second-year undergraduate pursuing Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
• Eligible to commence part-time in February 2027 for 2 years.
• Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Build prototypes of switchgear designs and perform design verification tests.
• Construct and test mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems.
• Write test plans based on functional specs and IEC standards.
• Analyze test data with programming to support engineering decisions.
• Document and present test findings to highlight improvement opportunities.
