Qualifications

• Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence is required.
• Construction Industry White Card is mandatory.
• CPR and Low Voltage Rescue qualifications are required.
• Current Australian driver’s licence is essential.
• Demonstrated industrial or commercial electrical experience is required.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and technical documentation.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete industrial and commercial electrical installations, maintenance and upgrades.
• Install and maintain switchboards, distribution boards, lighting, power and cable tray.
• Carry out cable installation, termination, testing and fault-finding.
• Work on new construction, refurbishment, shutdown and maintenance projects.
• Read drawings and technical documentation and ensure compliance.
• Perform testing, verification and commissioning activities.
• Diagnose faults and perform efficient repairs.
• Prepare inspections, quality records and project documentation.

TBG is seeking experienced and motivated Industrial and Commercial Electricians to join our Electrical Services team.

TBG is a specialist Queensland contractor delivering electrical, civil construction, rail systems, power distribution projects across the state. With a growing pipeline of industrial and commercial work, we are looking for skilled electricians who want secure, long-term employment and opportunities to develop their careers.

Important: These are not FIFO or DIDO positions. Applicants must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Rockhampton region. Some regional travel may be required depending on project locations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Site Leadership Team, your responsibilities may include:

• Completing industrial and commercial electrical installations, maintenance and upgrade works
• Installing and maintaining switchboards, distribution boards, lighting, power, cable tray, conduit and associated electrical infrastructure
• Completing cable installation, termination, testing and fault-finding
• Working on new construction, refurbishment, shutdown and maintenance projects
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Completing testing, verification and commissioning activities
• Diagnosing electrical faults and completing repairs efficiently
• Completing inspections, quality records and project documentation
• Participating in pre-starts, risk assessments and toolbox meetings
• Working safely and complying with TBG, client and legislative requirements
• Supporting apprentices, trades assistants and other project team members
• Representing TBG professionally when working with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you will require:

• A current Queensland Electrical Work Licence
• Relevant electrical trade qualifications
• Construction Industry White Card
• Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue qualifications
• Current Australian driver’s licence
• Demonstrated industrial or commercial electrical experience
• Experience with electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental requirements
• Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Ability to complete project and quality documentation accurately
• Willingness to undertake regional travel when required
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening

Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:

• Industrial facilities, workshops, processing plants or mining infrastructure
• Commercial construction and refurbishment projects
• Switchboard installation and upgrades
• Motor controls, pumps, instrumentation and control systems
• Preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Testing, verification and commissioning
• Working at Heights, EWP and confined space competencies
• Data, communications, fire or security systems

Applicants do not need to hold every additional competency. TBG is willing to support the right people in obtaining relevant training and project-specific qualifications.
