Tecside Group is seeking experienced Switchboard Testers for an established electrical manufacturing business in Sydney, NSW. You will perform LV switchboard testing, inspect MDBs, MSBs and control panels, and ensure compliance with Australian standards.

Qualifications

Job description

An established electrical manufacturing business is seeking experienced Switchboard Testers to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on electrical professionals with experience in low-voltage (LV) switchboard testing who take pride in delivering quality workmanship and maintaining high electrical safety standards.
We are looking for motivated, reliable and detail-oriented individuals who can confidently carry out electrical testing, interpret technical drawings and ensure all switchboards meet the required Australian standards.

About the Role

As a Switchboard Tester, you will be responsible for testing and inspecting LV electrical switchboards, ensuring all equipment meets relevant specifications, quality requirements and safety standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Testing LV electrical switchboards, including MDBs, MSBs, DBs and control panels.
• Conducting insulation resistance, continuity, polarity and functional testing.
• Performing point-to-point testing and fault identification.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian electrical standards.
• Completing test documentation, inspection checklists and quality reports.
• Following electrical safety procedures, isolation requirements and safe testing practices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A current NSW Electrical Licence (preferred).
• Previous experience in LV switchboard testing.
• A strong understanding of AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000 and NSW Service and Installation Rules.
• Practical experience conducting electrical testing and inspections.
• The ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience with point-to-point testing.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• A sound understanding of electrical safety and safe testing procedures.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with test documentation and quality reporting is advantageous, although training can be provided in this area.
