Job summary

North West Queensland is seeking a licensed electrician for a major greenfield mine project in Queensland. The role requires trade qualification, current QLD Electrical Licence and LVR/CPR, with experience in installation and fabrication of electrical components including cables and substations on an industrial site.

The successful candidate will use calibrated instruments to verify dead circuits and continuity, and must hold a Construction White Card.

• Apply electrical installation and fabrication skills on site for a major construction project.
• Work with Bechtel EPC teams to ensure safety, quality and schedule compliance.
• Operate and verify electrical systems, cables and sub-stations using calibrated tools.
• Adhere to site safety rules and complete required documentation.

The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.

Job Summary

Minimum 3 years major construction/project experience, preferably in an industrial or mining environment.

Must be trade qualified, hold current QLD Electrical Licence and LVR / CPR.

Demonstrates experience in the installation and fabrication of electrical components including cable and sub stations in a construction environment.

Ability to use calibrated instruments to check for dead and continuity of electrical circuits and feeds.

Construction White Card is a mandatory requirement for all Project site personnel

Remuneration

Details as per EA:

2:1 continuous roster, RDO accrued

• $54 per hour (base rate) + penalties
• $2.70 per hour Electrical License allowance
• $3.30 per hour Tradesperson allowance
• $4.00 per hour Site allowance

Plus, the below accruals

• Project Incentive Payment - $110 per completed week of service
• Redundancy - $170 per week for each completed week of service
