Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment seek qualified Electricians and Senior Electricians to deliver services across agricultural, mining and water treatment markets from our Mackay head office. Based locally with regional travel, you will work on pumps, irrigators and VSDs, with training and support provided.

Senior Electricians will assist Sales with quoting, oversee training of junior electricians and ensure compliance with electrical standards.

Qualifikationen

• Hold a current electrical licence (electrical fitter / mechanic).
• Background in industrial electrical is preferred.
• Desirable QTP competency (not essential).
• Must hold a current manual Driver’s Licence.
• Must be legally permitted to work in Australia.

Aufgaben

• Electrical works involving installing, fault finding, troubleshooting, conducting repairs and maintenance to pumps, irrigators and VSD controllers.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, applicable standards and statutory requirements (voltage drop, current capacity and wiring).
• Assist with onsite electrical works and commissioning.
• Control circuit design and modifications.
• Fault finding and programming of PLC, HDMI and VSD.
• Terminations, splicing and test and tag of electrical equipment.
• Assist Sales teams and personnel with quoting electrical components of jobs.
• Oversee training of less experienced Electricians.
• Fulfill QTP responsibilities (training provided if required).
• Assist in the scheduling of resources and personnel.

Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment have been at the forefront of providing quality solutions, products and services in the water treatment and pumping industries for over 50 years.

We are seeking qualified Electricians and Senior Electricians to provide services to a wide range of industries and clients from agricultural to mining and domestic sectors – no day is the same!

Role Overview

Based from our head office in Mackay, our electricians have the opportunity to work infield – locally and throughout the surrounding regions, predominately on jobs and projects from the agricultural, mining and water treatment markets.

Working alongside other tradespersons on a variety of equipment provides opportunity for growth and gaining experience in all aspects of pumping and water treatment.

• This role does require the ability to work away from home – accommodation and meals provided

• Salary / hourly rate negotiable pending experience, qualifications and responsibilities.
• Electrical works involving but not limited to installing, fault finding, trouble shooting, conducting repairs and maintenance to pumps, irrigators and VSD controllers

In addition to the above, the Senior Electrician will also:

• Assist Sales teams and personnel with quoting electrical components of jobs

• Fulfill QTP responsibilities in (training provided if required)
• Assist in the scheduling of resources and personnel
• Hold a current electrical licence (electrical fitter / mechanic)
• Have a background in industrial electrical – ideally experience with process electrical and VSD control systems.
• Hold a current manual Driver’s Licence
• Supply own hand tools

Desirable Experience – but not essential

• Electrical experience with pumps and basic understanding of fluid dynamics
• Work at Heights, Confined Space
• Qualified Technical Person (QTP) competency
