Job summary

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is seeking a motivated High-Voltage Electrician to join the Perth Ad Hoc Field Support team. Based at the Perth Branch, you will travel between Gold Fields and Pilbara sites, performing electrical installations, commissioning, testing on mining equipment and maintenance on Hitachi EH trucks.

You will diagnose electrical issues, liaise with technical support, complete documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Australian licenced High Voltage Electrical qualification.
• Current driver's license.
• Experience with Electric Drive Mining Equipment (OEM preferred).
• Mine site exposure with understanding of preventative maintenance and breakdown support.
• Willingness to attend multiple sites.
• Commitment to Workplace Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic evaluation and HV electrical maintenance on Hitachi Electric Mining Trucks.
• Provide support across the complete range of Hitachi products throughout the Western Region.
• Liaise with technical support staff to achieve efficient outcomes and assist in product improvements.
• Complete and submit all relevant documentation and reporting paperwork.
• Maintain good working relationships with customers, peers and other departments.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities within your area of responsibility.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth in the Western Region, we currently have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic High-Voltage Electrician to join the Perth Ad Hoc Field Support team. In this role, you will be part of and based out of our Perth Branch, however the majority of your role will see you working between multiple sites in the Gold Fields and Pilbara regions. You will predominantly be supporting clients Truck fleet, completing electrical installations and commissioning, pre-deployment testing on new mining equipment, electrical troubleshooting services and maintenance, component installations and repairs on Hitachi’s EH mining trucks. This permanent role will allow you access to OEM training while you build a long-term career with a global company.

Reporting to the Mining Builds & Ad Hoc Supervisor you will be responsible for:

• Performing diagnostic evaluation and HV electrical maintenance on Hitachi Electric Mining Trucks

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Australian licenced High Voltage Electrical qualification


• Current driver's license


• Demonstrated experience with Electric Drive Mining Equipment, OEM experience preferable


• Previous Mine site exposure with a strong understanding of preventative maintenance and breakdown support


• Inherent requirement to attend multiple sites


• Understand the importance of Workplace Health & Safety and be proactive in reducing hazards


• Have excellent diagnostic, problem-solving and technical skills


• Ability to work both in a team and autonomously
