Job summary

Zone RV on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a skilled Electrician or 12V Electrical Technician to join the Coolum Beach production team. The role covers installation, connection, testing and fault-finding across premium off-road caravans, from lighting to solar and off-grid power systems.

You will work hands-on in a modern facility, reading diagrams, wiring and collaborating with the team to ensure quality and on-time builds.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland electrical work licence or automotive electrical qualification or hands-on 12V experience.
• Experience wiring, installing and fault-finding electrical systems.
• Ability to read and follow electrical drawings and installation instructions.
• Strong focus on quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

• Install and connect 12V wiring, lighting, accessories and components.
• Perform 240V installation, connection and testing where licensed.
• Install solar panels, lithium battery systems, inverters and chargers.
• Wire outlets, appliances, lighting and accessories in caravan builds.
• Fault-find, troubleshoot and repair within scope of work.
• Read electrical diagrams and installation instructions.
• Conduct quality checks to meet safety and manufacturing standards.
• Collaborate with production to maintain build quality and schedules.

Job description

Zone RV is a Sunshine Coast-based manufacturer of premium off-road caravans, combining modern manufacturing methods, innovative technology and advanced off-grid electrical systems.

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Electrician or 12V Electrical Technician to join our production team at our Coolum Beach manufacturing facility.

Whether you're a qualified 240V electrician, an automotive electrician or an experienced 12V installer, we'd like to hear from you.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position within our caravan manufacturing operation, involving the installation, connection, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems across our range of premium off-road caravans.

You'll work alongside our production team to deliver high-quality electrical installations, from lighting and accessories through to advanced solar, lithium battery and off-grid power systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Installing and connecting 12V electrical wiring, lighting, accessories and components.
• Undertaking 240V electrical installation, connection and testing where appropriately licensed.
• Installing solar panels, lithium battery systems, inverters, chargers and REDARC electrical equipment.
• Wiring power outlets, appliances, lighting and electrical accessories throughout new caravan builds.
• Performing electrical fault-finding, troubleshooting and repairs within your qualifications and authorised scope of work.
• Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, schematics and installation instructions.
• Completing quality checks to ensure installations meet applicable safety, workmanship and manufacturing requirements.
• Working collaboratively with production teams to maintain build quality and production schedules.

About You

We're open to applicants from a variety of electrical backgrounds and are particularly interested in individuals who take pride in their workmanship, have strong practical skills and enjoy working in a hands‑on manufacturing environment.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• A current Queensland electrical work licence, automotive electrical qualification or demonstrated hands‑on 12V electrical installation experience.
• Experience in electrical wiring, installations, component fitting or fault‑finding.
• The ability to read and follow electrical drawings and installation instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good problem‑solving skills and a practical approach to electrical work.
• A reliable attitude and the ability to work effectively within a production team.
• A strong understanding of workplace safety and electrical installation requirements relevant to your work.

Highly regarded, but not essential:

• A current Queensland electrical mechanic licence authorising relevant 240V installation and testing.
• Experience in caravan or recreational vehicle manufacturing.
• Automotive, marine or 4WD electrical installation experience.
• Knowledge of solar, lithium battery, inverter and off‑grid electrical systems.
• Experience working with REDARC or similar electrical equipment.
• Previous caravan manufacturing experience is not essential.

We're happy to consider qualified electricians from other industries who are interested in transitioning into caravan manufacturing, as well as experienced 12V installers who have developed strong practical electrical skills.
