About the role

We are seeking a skilled 12V Accessories Fitter to join our team at Austrack Campers in Caboolture on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the professional installation and fitting of 12-volt electrical systems and accessories in caravans and campers. This position is integral to ensuring that our vehicles meet the highest standards of quality and functionality, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the reputation of Austrack Campers.

Key responsibilities

• Install and fit 12V electrical systems, including batteries, charging systems, inverters and solar panels in camper vans and caravans
• Connect and test 12V accessories such as lighting, water pumps, ventilation systems and other electrical components
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical specifications to ensure accurate installations
• Perform quality checks and testing of all 12V systems to verify correct functionality and safety compliance
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and identify solutions to ensure reliable system performance
• Maintain accurate records of installations, modifications and testing procedures
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects and maintain production schedules
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies whilst performing duties
• Provide recommendations to customers regarding system upgrades and accessories based on their requirements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a 12V electrical systems fitter or similar automotive electrical role within the caravan or campervan industry
• Strong knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems, components, wiring practices and installation techniques
• Competency in reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams and technical documentation
• Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, volt meters and continuity testers
• Solid understanding of relevant Australian electrical safety standards and regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending and working in confined spaces within vehicles
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical work or automotive trades preferred
• Experience with solar power systems and advanced battery management systems is advantageous
