Job summary

Downer is inviting applications for a permanent Electrician at Holsworthy Barracks in New South Wales. The role covers electrical maintenance, repair, and inspection across the base, with a focus on WHS compliance and high-quality trade services.

You will work with other trades to support the PAS delivery and may need to obtain Defence clearance. Applicants should have a Certificate III in Electrotechnology, NSW Electrical Licence, and relevant qualifications, plus a current driver's licence.

Qualifications

• Post-trade experience in facilities or electrical maintenance.
• Electrical systems inspection, repair and preventative maintenance.
• Defence Security Clearance eligibility (Australian citizenship)

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical maintenance, repair and inspection tasks for safe, compliant operation of electrical systems at Holsworthy Barracks.
• Deliver high quality trade services and maintain WHS compliance.
• Collaborate with other trades and service providers to support PAS delivery and outcomes.
• Maintain clear, professional communication regarding works and outcomes.
• Focus on improving longevity of fixed plant and equipment.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Responsible for undertaking electrical maintenance, repair and inspection tasks to ensure the safe and compliant operation of electrical systems and equipment across the base.
• Deliver high quality trade services, maintain WHS and environmental compliance, and work collaboratively with other trades and service providers to support PAS delivery
• Provide responsive and professional trade services to internal and external stakeholders
• Focusing on improving the longevity of fixed plant & equipment
• Maintain clear, professional communication regarding works and outcomes

What You'll Bring

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• Electrical Licence NSW
• Electrical Testing and Tagging Certificate and White Card (desirable)
• Current Open Drivers Licence
• Post-trade experience in facilities or electrical maintenance and experience in electrical systems inspection, repair and preventative maintenance
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship is mandatory).
