Job description

Electricians required for Central QLD Power Station Shutdown in the Biloela region. Approximately 2 months with potential for ongoing shutdowns.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Casual Role: DIDO outage, located at Callide Power Station in Biloela, QLD, with potential for other project/outage work following on (Jul - Sep).
• Project Dates: Start date from early to mid-April, running until approximately early June.
• Roster: Monday to Saturday, Days/Nights, 11-hour shifts.
• Other Benefits: Join a supportive team delivering Downers Callide outage. LAHA or Accommodation is provided to distant workers.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking casual Electricians to provide outage services at Callide Power Station in Biloela, QLD. Starting in early to mid-April, Downer will offer mechanical and electrical project services throughout the outage period.

As an Electrician on site ensuring all work is completed safely, effectively, and to the required standards, your scope of work will include but not be limited to:

• HV motor disconnects, inspection, basic testing, and reconnects
• LV motor disconnects, inspection, basic testing, bearing replacement, and reconnects
• DC - LV switchboard maintenance, cleaning, inspection, testing, and some component replacements
• HV switchboards - visual inspections, Earth switch maintenance, & basic maintenance on the HV contactors & Circuit Breakers.
• 19.5kV Generator disconnects and reconnects.

• Site Proficient: Experienced in outages and projects in the power generation or heavy industrial sector preferred
• Team Oriented: Have an ability to work effectively within a team with well-developed communication skills
• Workplace Safety: Committed to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues
• Qualifications: Enter and work in confined spaces (RIIWHS202E), Working at heights (RIIWHS204E) (within 2 years), Construction white card
• Qld Electrical Licence: as well as current CPR/LVR
