JLE Group is expanding its Newcastle workshop with Electrical Trade Assistants to support assembly of electrical boards, substations and related equipment. You will prepare materials, operate hand and power tools, and assist with wiring prep, cable pulling, and component mounting under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a construction White Card, workshop experience, and a forklift licence (or willingness to obtain). Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Construction White Card.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work within a team environment.
• Previous workshop or manufacturing experience.
• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work unsupervised when required, Positive attitude and commitment to safety

Responsibilities

• Assist electricians with assembly of electrical boards, substations, starters, and associated equipment.
• Prepare materials and components for assembly (cutting, drilling, cleaning, labelling, pre‑assembly).
• Operate hand and power tools as required.
• Assist with wiring preparation, cable pulling, lugging, terminating support, and component mounting (under supervision).
• Help maintain workshop jigs, benches, and work areas.
• Support testing and inspection activities as directed by tradespeople.Manual handling of materials, components, and equipment.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation (lean principles, 5S where applicable).
• Prepare worksites and equipment for production tasks.
• Pick up & delivery of goods when required.
• Assist in stocktake when required.
• Follow all JLE Group WHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

JLE Manufacturing & Hire specialises in manufacturing of HV equipment for renewables, commercial & industrial sectors throughout Australia & the world. This role is to assist the manufacturing division with workshop-based tasks when building HV electrical equipment.
