Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking a qualified Testing Officer to join our Testing & Commissioning team at our Kewdale electrical workshop in a permanent full-time role. You will contribute to a wide range of testing and commissioning activities across equipment for power generation, mining, and electrical utility sectors.

You will work within defined rosters or flexible 4-day weeks, with early morning hours. The role emphasizes heavy collaboration with Project Engineers and a strong focus on safety,

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in testing electrical equipment and control systems.
• Stand-alone power system experience is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in technical problem solving.
• Electrical fault finding and PLC troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in diagnostic testing of electrical equipment used in utilities, mining and power transmission.

Responsibilities

• Review, update and coordinate testing resources within the team to meet production requirements.
• Provide technical guidance with Project Engineers to team members during testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all test equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose.
• Ensure all test equipment is calibrated per manufacturers requirements and Australian Standards.
• Document all testing, commissioning and validation to meet customer specifications, contracts, standards and legislative requirements.

The opportunity:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Testing Officer to join our dynamic Testing & Commissioning team at our Kewdale electrical workshop. This is a permanent, full-time position offering the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of testing and commissioning activities across equipment used in power generation, mining, and electrical utility sectors.

ROSTERED HOURS OPTIONS:

5AM-1:30PM MONDAY-THURSDAY - 5AM-11AM FRIDAY

6AM-2:30PM MONDAY-THURSDAY - 6AM-12PM FRIDAY

FLEX ROSTER - 4 DAY WEEK - 5AM-3PM

Responsibilities include:

• Review, update and coordinate testing resources within the team to meet production requirements.
• Provide technical guidance in conjunction with Project Engineers to team members when completing testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all test equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose.
• Ensure all test equipment is calibrated in line with manufacturers requirements and Australian Standard requirements.
• Document all testing, commissioning, and validation to meet the requirements of the customer specification, contracts, standards, codes, and appropriate legislative requirements.

What are we looking for from you?

You will have an excellent attitude to teamwork complemented with the following:

• Extensive experience in the testing of electrical equipment and control systems.
• Stand-alone power system experience (Advantageous).
• Demonstrated experience in technical problem solving.
• Electrical fault finding and PLC troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in diagnostic testing of electrical equipment utilised in utilities and mining and power transmission.
