Job summary

Alstom Australia in Melbourne is seeking an Electrical Testing & Commissioning Supervisor for rail projects. You will oversee train-level routine commissioning and validation testing, working with Engineering and Warranty teams to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery.

Key duties include planning and supervising day-to-day activities, logging defects, generating test reports and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• A Grade Electrical Licence is required.
• Proven supervision skills in a TTC environment.
• Able to follow Test Procedures and electrical schematics.
• Excellent technical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to log and escalate defects using reporting tools and to produce accurate test reports.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise day-to-day activities.
• Perform Train Level Routine Commissioning and support Validation testing - Static and Dynamic Tests in accordance with test procedures at Commissioning Site; sign off test sections as appropriate.
• Troubleshoot and rectify arising technical issues during Commissioning & Warranty Phase.
• Deliver Test completion in line with Train Delivery Schedule.
• Generate and issue Test Reports for completed tests.
• Accurately report failures on the Failure Reporting Tool.
• Liaise with Engineering on quality/reliability issues.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives, process and procedure improvements.

Your future role

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of train-level routine commissioning and validation testing, contributing directly to the delivery of high‑quality rail solutions. Day‑to‑day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Quality, and Warranty teams), troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning and warranty phases, and much more.

We'll look to you for:

• Plan and supervise day‑to‑day activities
• Perform Train Level Routine Commissioning and support to Validation testing - Static and Dynamic Tests in accordance with test procedures at Commissioning Site, sign off test specification sections as appropriate.
