Job summary

Visy in Western Sydney is seeking an Electrical Technician to maintain and improve the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical systems in a high-speed pulp and paper manufacturing plant. The role is a day shift from Monday to Friday, with rostered on-call duties.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose faults on motors, drives, PLCs and automation, and support continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• A Grade Electrical Licence is required.
• Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments is essential.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with PLCs, VSDs, MCCs and industrial automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and plant assets.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, PLCs, instrumentation and control systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and monitor condition of plant equipment.
• Contribute to reliability, safety and efficiency improvement projects.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise plant performance.
• Participate in breakdown response and after-hours call-out activities as required.
• Standby on-call duties on a 1-in-4-week roster.

As an Electrical Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical systems across our high-speed pulp and paper manufacturing plant.

What you'll do:

What You Will Bring:

• A Grade Electrical Licence
• Experience within a manufacturing, pulp and paper, FMCG, packaging, recycling, or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with PLCs, VSDs, motor control centres (MCCs), and industrial automation systems.
