Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking an Electrical Supervisor / Signal Technician to join our Brisbane-based team, delivering railway signaling projects with a strong focus on safety, quality and schedule adherence.

You will supervise electrical crews, install and commission signaling equipment, troubleshoot faults and collaborate with engineering for upgrades, while relocating support is provided to join the Sunshine State.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in signaling maintenance, installation and commissioning.
• Electrical supervisor experience in railway environments.
• Valid Electrical license and related competencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise an electrical team to carry out installation works as per design & specifications, ensuring high safety standards.
• Develop, implement and monitor progress of construction plans in respect of time, cost and quality.
• Monitor construction work for compliance with engineering design specifications, client standards and statutory regulations.
• Develop individual and team competence.
• Conduct Toolbox and Safe Talks.
• Installation and maintenance of railway signalling equipment including signals, track circuits and other wayside items.
• Install, test, and commission signalling equipment including track circuits, point machines, signals, and train control systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in signaling systems and rectify issues promptly.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement signaling upgrades and modifications, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support during commissioning activities and ensure safety protocols.

Who will you be working with?

Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team is a recognized industry leader in the successful delivery of complex integrated system projects. These projects involve signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions with a strong focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction

Where is the position located?

We are recruiting 2 roles in BRISBANE (QLD) - RELOCATE TO THE SUNSHINE STATE! We will provide financial relocation support to assist in the move.

The operating sites are located Northside Brisbane and South Brisbane (Logan) to Gold Coast, QLD (dependent on the role).

How will you make a difference?

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Electrical Supervisor / Signal Technician will supervise an electrical team to carry out installation works as per design & specifications.

What will your typical day look like?

• Supervise an electrical team to carry out installation works as per design & specifications, ensuring high safety standards
• Support in the Developing, implementation and monitoring of progress of construction plans in respect of time, cost and quality
• Monitor construction work for compliance with engineering design specifications, client standards and statutory regulations
• Develop individual and team competence
• Conduct Toolbox and Safe Talks
• Installation and maintenance of railway signalling equipment including (but not limited to) Signals, Train stops, Point Machines, Track Circuits, Level Crossings and other wayside items.
• Install, test, and commission signalling equipment including track circuits, point machines, signals, and train control systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in signaling systems, utilising technical expertise and diagnostic tools to identify and rectify issues promptly.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement signaling upgrades and modifications, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide technical support during commissioning activities and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.

What do we want to know about you?

• Electrical / Electrical Mechanic License
• Certificate IV in Rail Signaling(***)Mandatory requirement for both roles
• Statement of Competency
• Rail Industry Worker Card
• Proven experience working in the rail industry, preferably in signaling maintenance, installation and commissioning
• Electrical Supervisor Role: Substantial experience working as a supervisor in the railway industry
• Clean Driver’s License
