Job Description Summary

Lead the team maintaining critical electrical, tolling and ITS infrastructure on the Westlink M7 Motorway, driving safety, reliability and performance.

About the Role

Lead the Team That Keeps One of Australia's Largest Toll Roads Operating.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead the maintenance, reliability and ongoing improvement of critical electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) assets across the Westlink M7 Motorway.

The Westlink M7 Motorway is one of Australia's most significant urban motorways, supporting the movement of people and freight across Western Sydney 24 hours a day.

This role offers long-term career stability and the opportunity to work across a diverse range of electrical, tolling and operational technology systems in a complex transport environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing electrical safety, asset performance and workforce capability.

You will provide technical guidance to field teams while ensuring all maintenance and operational activities are completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with relevant standards.

If you're a licensed electrician with strong leadership experience in transport, infrastructure or industrial environments, and a passion for mentoring others, this is an excellent opportunity to lead a specialised team working on essential road infrastructure.

About the Role

As the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance activities across a diverse portfolio of electrical, tolling and ITS assets, including lighting systems, switchboards, tolling equipment, power distribution assets, ITS technologies and electrical tolling infrastructure.

You will lead a team of Electrical Technicians and subcontractors, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of network assets while developing team capability through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance activities across electrical, ITS and tolling assets.
  • Supervise Electrical Technicians, apprentices and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for roadside electrical systems, ITS infrastructure and tolling equipment.
  • Plan and oversee inspections, testing, commissioning, fault finding, repairs and re-energisation activities.
  • Coordinate emergency response, incident rectification and service restoration activities for critical motorway systems.
  • Oversee first-line support and fault response for tolling systems, coordinating specialist vendor support and escalation where required.
  • Administer electrical permits, isolation processes and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with AS/NZS standards, electrical safety legislation, network procedures and workplace health and safety obligations.
  • Maintain asset records, maintenance histories, defect information and compliance documentation within the Asset Management System.
  • Manage electrical and ITS spare parts, critical inventory and consumables to support asset reliability.
  • Support asset lifecycle planning, reliability improvement initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  • Contribute technical expertise to investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective action development.
  • Develop workforce capability through coaching, mentoring, technical training and knowledge transfer.
  • Support succession planning and reduce key-person dependency across critical electrical, ITS and tolling systems.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with operations teams, specialist vendors, subcontractors and client representatives.
About You

You are an experienced electrical professional who combines strong technical knowledge with proven leadership capability.

You enjoy supporting and developing others while maintaining high safety and operational standards.

Essential Experience

  • Experience working with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), operational technology or similar networked infrastructure.
  • Proven experience supervising, mentoring and developing field-based electrical teams.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities and responding to operational incidents.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
