Job summary

Alcoa Australia is seeking an Electrical Superintendent at the Portland Aluminium site to lead electrical and instrumentation maintenance, govern HV/LV systems, and act as the Electrical Safety Authority. You will champion safety, reliability and continuous improvement while building capability across electrical teams and contractors on an on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant electrical qualification and extensive maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems and safety standards
• Proven leadership with capability development
• Experience with electrical safety systems, audits and investigations
• Strong preventative maintenance and reliability focus
• Excellent communication with teams, contractors and regulators
• Commitment to WHS and risk management

Responsibilities

• Provide site-wide leadership for electrical and instrumentation maintenance
• Act as site Electrical Safety Authority
• Oversee safe operation of high voltage and low voltage systems and upgrades
• Lead electrical audits, regulatory engagement, incident investigations and closure of actions
• Improve asset availability via preventive maintenance and root cause analysis
• Develop the capability of electrical and instrumentation employees through coaching and training
• Support electrical infrastructure upgrades and equipment assessments
• Drive continuous improvement in safety and cost efficiency
