Job summary

Aurizon is seeking an Electrical Engineer with HV focus to contribute to delivery of civil and electrical rail infrastructure projects. The role involves planning construction activities, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with design documentation and safety standards.

You will support project delivery from construction through commissioning, with opportunities for career progression and a collaborative, diverse team environment. Occasional travel across Central Queensland is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and pursuing RPEQ.
• 3–5 years’ high voltage engineering experience.
• Current Class C driver’s licence (mandatory).
• Experience in project delivery during construction and through to commissioning.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to negotiate/influence stakeholders.
• High level of skill in developing technical, design, construction and maintenance engineering solutions.
• Willingness to travel for role as required.
• Willingness to complete pre-employment medical testing.

Responsibilities

• Organise and plan construction works and associated technical aspects of projects including developing and managing cost estimates, resource requirements, material requirements, integration with other work groups, staging requirements, and construction programmes.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure they comply with design documentation, standards, specifications, and the safe operation of Aurizon’s rail network.
• Organise and prepare the associated quality and certification documentation.
• Manage technical issues and support day-to-day construction activities.
• Occasional travel required across the Central Queensland Coal Network.
