Job summary
Alcoa’s Portland Aluminium Smelter in Portland, Victoria seeks a Reliability Engineer – Electrical to improve the reliability and lifecycle performance of critical electrical assets. You will support maintenance, operations and projects, applying reliability strategies and data to drive safer, more sustainable plant performance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, mining or smelting.
- Knowledge of HV/LV systems, motors, drives, protection and control.
- Experience in reliability engineering and defect elimination.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical equipment management and reliability strategies.
- Monitor asset health and identify reliability, lifecycle and obsolescence risks.
- Investigate electrical failures, complete root cause analysis and drive defect elimination.
- Provide technical support across HV/LV systems, motors, drives, protection and control.
- Provide electrical engineering input into projects, design reviews, commissioning and major repairs.
- Support electrical safety, compliance and continuous improvement across the Smelter.
