Job summary

Alcoa Australia’s Portland Smelter in Victoria seeks a Reliability Engineer – Electrical to enhance the reliability of high- and low-voltage assets across the site. You will work with maintenance, operations and project teams to reduce outages, optimize asset life and drive safety improvements.

You will apply deep electrical engineering knowledge to HV/LV systems, motors, drives, protection and instrumentation, and lead RCA, FMEA and defect elimination efforts in a heavy industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, mining or smelting.
• Knowledge of HV/LV, motors, drives, protection, control, instrumentation.
• Experience in reliability engineering, RCA, FMEA and defect elimination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical equipment management and reliability strategies.
• Monitor asset health and identify risks.
• Investigate electrical failures and perform root cause analysis.
• Provide electrical input to projects, design reviews, commissioning and major repairs.
• Support electrical safety and continuous improvement across the Smelter.
