Job summary

Alcoa is seeking an Electrical Superintendent at the Portland Aluminium site to lead electrical and instrumentation maintenance, oversee HV/LV systems, and act as the Electrical Safety Authority. The role emphasizes safety, reliability and regulatory compliance across critical assets.

You will champion maintenance strategies, lead audits, investigations and continuous improvement while developing capability within electrical teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification with extensive experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety, HV/LV systems and compliance requirements.
• Proven leadership with ability to develop capability and lead teams.
• Experience in electrical safety systems, regulatory audits and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Provide site-wide leadership and governance for electrical and instrumentation maintenance and electrical safety
• Act as the site Electrical Safety authority and maintain the Electrical Safety Management System
• Oversee the safe and compliant operation of high voltage and low voltage systems, switching activities and system upgrades
• Lead electrical audits, regulatory engagement, incident investigations and the closure of corrective actions
• Improve electrical asset availability and reliability through preventative maintenance and root cause analysis
• Develop the capability of electrical and instrumentation employees through coaching and training
• Support electrical infrastructure upgrades and provide recommendation on the suitability and serviceability of equipment
• Drive continuous improvement in maintenance effectiveness, safety performance and cost efficiency
