Job summary

Harry Maxwell, partnering with an established multidisciplinary contractor in Western Australia, is appointing an Electrical Project Engineer to lead significant electrical works on a major resources NPI project. The role is hands-on, owning packages across engineering, procurement, construction, quality, commissioning and handover.

You will coordinate with project management, site supervision, subcontractors and vendors to deliver electrical scopes in a multidisciplinary construction

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Approximately 5+ years’ experience in project engineering, construction or major project delivery.
• Contractor-side experience within mining, resources, infrastructure or industrial construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Managing electrical work packages from design review through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and documentation and resolving design/constructability issues.
• Developing scopes of work and coordinating electrical subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
• Supporting procurement, vendor evaluations and costing activities.
• Monitoring programme, progress, cost and quality across packages.
• Managing ITPs, inspections, test records, hold and witness points, MDRs and handover requirements.
• Coordinating interfaces between electrical works and civil/structural/mechanical scopes.
• Ensuring adherence to HSE, quality and client standards.

Harry Maxwell is partnering with an established multidisciplinary contractor to appoint an Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of significant electrical works on a major resources NPI project in Western Australia.

This is a hands-on project delivery role suited to an Electrical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of packages across engineering, procurement, construction, quality, commissioning and handover, rather than operating purely within a design or technical engineering environment.

About the role:

You will work closely with project management, site supervision, subcontractors, vendors and engineering consultants to coordinate the successful delivery of electrical scopes within a multidisciplinary construction environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing electrical work packages from design review and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation and resolving design and constructability issues.
• Developing scopes of work and coordinating electrical subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
• Supporting procurement, technical evaluations and vendor management.
• Monitoring programme, progress, cost and quality performance across assigned packages.
• Supporting cost forecasting, progress claims, variations and commercial management.
• Managing ITPs, inspections, test records, hold and witness points, MDR documentation and final handover requirements.
• Coordinating interfaces between electrical works and broader civil, structural and mechanical construction scopes.
• Working closely with site teams to identify and resolve technical and construction issues.
• Maintaining strong HSE, quality and client standards throughout project delivery.

What You’ll Bring:

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Approximately 5+ years’ experience in project engineering, construction or major project delivery.
• Previous contractor-side experience within mining, resources, infrastructure or industrial construction environments.
• Be Perth based and comfortable with FIFO rosters (including 2:1).
• Demonstrated experience delivering electrical packages through multiple stages of the project lifecycle.
• Experience coordinating electrical subcontractors, vendors, supervisors and consultants.
• Strong understanding of construction quality processes including ITPs, inspections, test documentation, MDRs and handover.
• Exposure to project controls including planning, procurement, forecasting, variations and progress claims.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, construction and client stakeholders.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
