Job summary

Aggreko in regional Queensland seeks an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join the project delivery team on the Eva Copper Major Mine Development Project. This site-based role operates on a 2/1 roster with travel from Brisbane.

You will plan, coordinate and deliver electrical works packages, ensuring safety and compliance with Australian standards while coordinating with clients and subcontractors to keep on schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an electrical project engineering role within construction, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (Degree or Advanced Diploma).
• Experience delivering HV/LV electrical infrastructure works on greenfield or brownfield sites preferred.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards and electrical safety requirements (AS/NZS 3000, HV switching, isolation procedures).
• Experience working with EPC or construction contractors on resource sector projects highly regarded.
• Proficient in MS Office, document control systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Valid driver's licence; willingness to travel and work FIFO/DIDO on roster, initially a 2/1 roster although could be subject to change.
• Current Construction Induction (White Card); mine-specific site inductions can be completed prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate electrical scope of works, including HV/LV reticulation, substations, switchrooms, and associated infrastructure.
• Review and interpret electrical design documentation, drawings, and specifications
• Coordinate subcontractors and electrical trades to ensure works are delivered safely, on program, and to specification
• Prepare and manage electrical work packages, including scopes of work, procurement, and construction schedules
• Liaise with client representatives, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on progress, cost, and quality against project targets.
• Identify and manage project risks, variations, and changes in scope.
• Support commissioning and testing activities, including liaison with commissioning engineers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, AS/NZS wiring rules, and site-specific HSE requirements.
• Contribute to the development of construction methodologies and ITPs for electrical works
• Participate in site safety inductions, toolbox talks, and incident investigations as required.
