Job summary

Argo Coal Management's Ironbark No 1 mine in Queensland's Bowen Basin invites an Electrical Planner to plan and coordinate preventative maintenance, maximise equipment availability and ensure compliance. You will work with maintenance and operations teams to anticipate challenges, reduce delays and drive reliability improvements.

The role focuses on planning electrical maintenance, owning the CMMS, and coordinating statutory inspections and upgrades to keep operations safe.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification is required.
• Underground mining experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule electrical maintenance to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
• Own and maintain the CMMS for accurate maintenance planning.
• Drive preventative and predictive electrical maintenance across plant and process equipment.
• Create and print work order reports as required.
• Support electrical reliability and defect elimination to improve equipment performance.
• Assist with coordinating statutory inspections, testing and upgrades for safety and compliance.

Job description

Ironbark No 1 mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, approximately 30km north-east of Moranbah and 160km from Mackay and forms part of the broader Argo Complex. This integrated mining complex includes the Carborough Board & Pillar and Broadlea Open Cut Mines, as well as a centralised Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP), where collaboration between our sites and teams is key to delivering safe and efficient outcomes.

As an Electrical Planner, you’ll be at the forefront of planning and coordinating preventative maintenance, improving equipment availability and ensuring statutory compliance.

Working closely with the maintenance and operations teams, you’ll anticipate challenges, eliminate delays and drive reliability improvements—helping keep our people safe and our operation moving.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Plan and schedule electrical maintenance to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.

Own and maintain the CMMS, ensuring accurate and effective electrical maintenance planning.

Drive preventative and predictive electrical maintenance across plant and process equipment.

Create and print work order reports for departments as required.

Support electrical reliability and defect elimination to improve equipment performance.

Assist with coordinating statutory compliance, inspections, testing and electrical upgrades to keep operations safe, reliable and compliant.

ABOUT YOU

Relevant electrical trade qualification and underground mining experience.

Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, statutory compliance and safety requirements.

Have a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to support compliance and achieve operational outcomes.

Be willing to work a 5/2/4/3 roster

Candidates located in/around Mackay or Airlie Beach areas is preferred, with residential options in Moranbah for those interested.
