Job summary

Ausgrid is seeking an Engineering Officer – Network Testing based at the Wallsend Depot to support HV testing, fault finding and technical assessment of network assets. This role ensures reliability, performance and safety through field and office work.

You will analyse results, coordinate resources, and liaise with operations and contractors to deliver safe, compliant testing and maintenance outcomes. A Diploma and relevant experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma in electrical or relevant engineering discipline is required.
• Proven experience in a relevant trade, engineering or technical role within the electricity distribution industry.
• Class C Driver Licence is required.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, network standards and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and perform high voltage testing and fault location across network assets.
• Analyse test results and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Investigate network faults and equipment failures, identifying solutions and supporting implementation.
• Coordinate labour, equipment, materials and contractor resources to ensure safe and efficient testing and maintenance.
• Build relationships with operational teams, contractors and customers to ensure safe delivery outcomes.
