Job summary

CitiPower and Powercor currently seeks a role focused on facilitating network access by assessing, accepting, and prioritising applications across the electricity network. You will produce precise switching instructions and provide operational guidance to internal teams and external authorities.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Technology (Electrical) /Certificate IV Electrical/Advanced Diploma Electrical Engineering or equivalent tertiary-based qualification.
• Experience in processing and planning of access applications including the writing of switching instructions.
• Strong knowledge of the electrical network including CBD, urban/regional, transmission and distribution.
• Understanding of VESI and Company Operating procedures, practices and outage planning.
• Understanding of network construction & maintenance work methods.
• Understanding of control room processes & systems.

Responsibilities

• Review and accept network access requests to avoid conflict, maximise system security and operator resourcing.
• Produce accurate, clear and concise operational instructions.
• Assist in the training and development of planners.
• Ensure planned outages comply with business & regulatory requirements.
• Ensure switching & access requirements comply with procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Support quality improvement by modelling high-quality work practices and providing feedback.
• Review and assist in updates of group documentation (guidelines and procedures).
