Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor – Electrical to oversee electrical maintenance at Darling Downs Power Station. You will plan, coordinate and execute maintenance in a safe, efficient manner, ensuring asset integrity and operational performance.

Key requirements include Electrical Trade qualification with post-trade or equivalent power station experience, strong leadership, and solid SAP maintenance planning knowledge. This role is on site at the Darling Downs facility.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Trade qualification with post-trade experience.

  • Experience with SAP-based maintenance planning and ordering.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience managing contractors and site supervision.
  • Background in heavy industry or power station environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, coordination and execution of electrical maintenance at Darling Downs Power Station.
  • Implement and review equipment strategies and O&M plans; support inventory optimisation.
  • Lead and collaborate with the Power Station Team; manage contractors.
  • Provide expert technical advice to Production and Maintenance teams.
  • Act as Site superintendent when required; drive performance improvements.

Job description

Role Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor – Electrical is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical maintenance activities for plant and equipment at Darling Downs Power Station. This role ensures all maintenance is carried out safely and efficiently, protecting the health and safety of personnel while maintaining the technical, environmental, and commercial integrity of the assets at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Implementation, review and execution of equipment strategies, O&M plans and support inventory optimisation
  • Actively contributing as an integral part of the Power Station Team
  • Managing and working with contractors
  • Provide expert level of technical advice to both Production and Maintenance teams.
  • Act as the Site superintendent as required.
  • Provide strong leadership, flexibility and support change whilst continuing to improve performance.
Qualifications
  • Strong work ethic and an excellent safety‑first problem‑solving mindset.
  • Solid communication skills (both electronic and verbal).
  • Demonstrated people leadership to drive a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Electrical Trade level qualifications with considerable post‑trade and/or equivalent power station or similar external heavy industry experience.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving, fault‑finding skills and experience.
  • Experience with computerised enterprise Management of Work Systems (SAP preferred).
  • Experience with computers and MS Office software.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling in the SAP environment.
  • Management of Change experience.
  • Continuous improvement skills and experience.
