Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer for a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project in Weipa, Queensland. You will interpret electrical design drawings, manage field installations, and provide technical direction to electricians and instrument personnel to meet safety and quality standards.

Working on a 2:1 FIFO roster to Weipa, you will coordinate with Project Engineer, lead cost and quantity forecasting, and ensure deliverables align

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of related work experience.
• Experience supervising within electrical discipline.
• Strong scheduling and cost estimation/forecasting capabilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate constructability and design issues for electrical/instrumentation and testing.
• Establish working relationships with Project Engineer for deliverables and configuration management.
• Manage quantity take-off, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for E&I.
• Direct preparation of field requisitions and material substitutions.
• Ensure interfaces for data exchange support construction automation and project controls.
