Job summary

HIX in Penrith, NSW is seeking three experienced Fire Safety Technicians (Electrical) - Projects to join our Projects Team. This hands-on role covers installation, commissioning, testing, fault finding and rectification of fire detection and life safety systems across commercial, industrial and government facilities.

You will work with a fully stocked team and company vehicle, were provided tools, training and path to licences.

Qualifications

Current Electrical Licence (essential).
Demonstrated experience within the Fire Services Industry.
Strong experience installing and commissioning fire detection systems, EWIS, VESDA and associated equipment.
Experience with fault finding, repairs and system rectifications.
Experience installing exit and emergency lighting systems.
Full working rights in Australia (essential).

Responsibilities

Install, commission, test and rectify fire detection and alarm systems.
Install and commission Fire Indicator Panels (FIPs), EWIS, VESDA, smoke detectors, heat detectors and associated systems.
Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting of fire safety systems and components.
Install, upgrade and rectify exit and emergency lighting systems.
Assist with Full Function Fire Testing (FFFT) and commissioning activities.
Complete inspection, testing and maintenance activities on a variety of fire protection systems when required.
Accurately complete all safety, quality and project documentation.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to deliver a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
Assist with site assessments, project planning, quoting and technical recommendations.
Work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, Technicians and Apprentices to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Participate in on-call and emergency response activities when required.
Maintain compliance with Australian Standards, Fire Industry requirements, and company policies and procedures.
