ADD STAFF, Inc. is seeking an experienced Switchboard Electrical Estimator to join our nationwide team. Based in Sydney or Brisbane, you will lead cost estimates for MV/LV switchboards, switchrooms, kiosks and power distribution projects across infrastructure, utilities and industrial sectors.

You will collaborate with engineering, design and production teams, review tender documents, and develop competitive bids, ensuring accurate estimates and profitable outcomes within our national network.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as an electrical estimator in electrical or switchboard industries.
• Experience pricing MV/LV switchboards, switchrooms or kiosks.
• Familiar with tender reviews and bid submissions.

Responsabilités

• Identify new project opportunities and manage the pipeline of upcoming estimates.
• Review tender documents, drawings and specs to understand requirements.
• Create detailed, competitive project cost estimates from tender data and historical pricing.
• Help develop proposal bid strategies and tender submission documents.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and project teams to design solutions and ensure smooth handover after winning.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and scope finalisation.
• Provide early reporting on bidding/estimating risks and update management to improve processes.

As their business expands, we are recruiting an experienced Electrical Estimator, with career opportunities to join an established business delivering projects across the infrastructure, utilities, and industrial sectors.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Switchboard Electrical Estimator who can be based in either Sydney or Brisbane. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical capability across MV/LV switchboards, switchrooms, kiosks, and power distribution systems, combined with the commercial acumen to deliver accurate and competitive estimates.

You will collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams across our national network, supporting the successful delivery of major projects and contributing to ongoing product development and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in electrical estimating, specifically across MV/LV switchboards, switchrooms, kiosks, and power distribution systems. You will also collaborate with the engineering, design, and production teams across their national network, supporting major projects and contributing to product development.
• Identify new project opportunities through multiple platforms and manage the ongoing pipeline of upcoming estimates.
• Review tender documents, project drawings, and technical specifications to completely understand the project requirements and scope of work.
• Create detailed, competitive project cost estimates based on tender files, historical pricing data, and expert cost calculations.
• Help develop proposal bid strategies and build the final tender submission documents, including summaries for board review, work methods, and construction schedules.
• Work with engineering, operational, and project teams to design innovative solutions and complete smooth handovers to the Project Manager after winning a project.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather pricing information, finalize bids, and confirm project scopes.
• Provide early reports on bidding and estimating risks that need mitigation, keep accurate historical records, track tender outcomes, and update management while improving estimation processes.

What you will bring

• 5 years of experience as an electrical estimator specifically in the electrical or switchboard industry
• Trade Qualified Electrician, or a degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field
• Demonstrated background in pricing MV/LV switchboards, switchrooms, kiosks or related equipment
• Proven background in the industrial sector is highly regarded
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, design, installation, and relevant sector codes and regulations
• Proficiency in Estimating Software tools such as WinEst, Espro, CostX or similar,
• Familiarity with project management tools and systems is an advantage
• High level computer literacy especially Microsoft Office Tools
