Job summary

Energypro is seeking a Melbourne-based Electrical Estimator to join our growing estimating team. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical packages and work closely with both Melbourne and Brisbane teams to develop winning tenders.

The role focuses on pricing tenders from $200K to $10M, building strong relationships with suppliers and contractors, and identifying opportunities to deliver value for clients while maintaining high standards of quality.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified electrician with estimating experience.
• 3+ years estimating commercial/industrial electrical projects.
• Experience with Groundplan or similar estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare competitive tenders for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
• Develop relationships with builders, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or outcomes.
• Attend site inspections and pre-tender meetings where required.
• Collaborate with Estimators, Project Managers and leadership to develop winning strategies.
• Assist with successful project handovers to delivery teams.
• Maintain estimating databases, supplier pricing and historical project information.

The Role

As our Melbourne-based Electrical Estimator, you'll play a key role within Energypro's broader estimating team, preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial electrical packages ranging from $200K to $10M.

You'll work closely with our experienced estimating and project delivery teams, collaborating across both Melbourne and Brisbane.

Working with builders, consultants, suppliers and our internal delivery teams, you'll prepare accurate, commercially sound tenders while helping identify opportunities to deliver value for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare competitive tenders for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
• Develop strong relationships with builders, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or project outcomes.
• Attend site inspections and pre-tender meetings where required.
• Collaborate closely with our Estimators, Project Managers, Construction Manager and leadership team to develop winning tender strategies.
• Assist with successful project handovers to our delivery teams.
• Maintain estimating databases, supplier pricing and historical project information.
• Contribute ideas that improve estimating processes and drive continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Strong electrical trade knowledge, ideally supported by an electrical trade qualification.
• Minimum three years' experience estimating commercial and/or industrial electrical projects.
• Strong technical knowledge and commercial acumen.
• Experience using estimating software such as Groundplan, Simpro and Microsoft Excel; experience with Monday.com is advantageous.
• Excellent ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
