Job summary

Sudel Industries Pty Ltd is seeking an Electrical Project Estimator to support all project lifecycle phases. You will provide technical expertise for estimates and tenders, collaborate with project managers, and offer support to ongoing contracts.

Regular site travel to Olympic Dam is required with flexible working arrangements. You will analyze project plans, develop detailed electrical cost estimates, and prepare bids while maintaining accurate documentation for senior management and clients.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Education in Engineering or Electrical Trade is required.
• Experience as an electrical estimator in industrial/commercial construction is preferred.
• Strong communication, networking and negotiating skills are essential.

Job description

As an Electrical Project Estimator, you will play a vital role in all successful phases of project lifecycle.

The primary responsibilities of this role is to provide technical expertise in the preparation of estimates and tenders. This involves working closely with the Project Manager's as applicable to ensure tender submissions are accurate, of high quality and completed on time.

The Estimator will also provide technical support to existing contracts and identify and support continual improvement within the tender process.

This is a flexiblerole that will require travel to site at Olympic Dam regularly but also an opportunity to have flexible working conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Analysis:

Review project plans and collaborate with project teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.

Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, continue developing of our estimating software and conducting comprehensive cost analysis.

Bid Preparation:

Prepare and submit bids to clients, ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Vendor and Subcontractor Management:

Obtain quotes and evaluate subcontractor bids to align with project requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain organized records of project estimates and prepare reports for senior management and clients.

Stay updated with industry trends and provide feedback to refine estimating processes.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Tertiary Education in Engineering or Electrical Trade qualified

Candidates must have either a trade qualification or an engineering degree as the minimum educational requirement.

Proven Industrial Electrical Experience

Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong networking, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.

Proven experience (1-5 Years) as an electrical estimator in the Industrial or Commercial Electrical construction industry, estimating projects from $100k to $20m. (preferred)

A minimum of 1-2 years experience in electrical estimating is required for this position.

BHPs Copper SA experience (+) Olympic Dam (+ +)

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to pass a medial and drug and alcohol screen
