Job summary

ProFound People is seeking a Primary Design Engineer for a Brisbane-based role within a growing HV engineering team. The position focuses on HV substation primary plant design, including transformers, switchgear, busbars and layout, with fault level calculations and documentation support from concept to construction.

You will work with other engineering disciplines to deliver projects and gain exposure to a strong pipeline across transmission and substations within a global group.

A Brisbane-based engineering business, part of a large global infrastructure and engineering group with operations across power delivery and transmission, is hiring a Primary Design Engineer to join its QLD team.

About the Role

This is a permanent, Brisbane-based position within a growing engineering function. You'll be responsible for HV substation primary plant design, working across transformers, switchgear, busbars and overall substation layout. Day to day, that includes fault level and related design calculations, preparing design documentation and technical specifications, and working alongside other engineering disciplines to deliver projects from concept through to construction. You'll be part of a QLD engineering team that's actively growing, with the group's wider Australian operations giving genuine visibility into a strong pipeline of transmission and substation work.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Working knowledge of DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP or similar design/study software
• Comfortable working across the full design lifecycle, not just one stage of it
