Job summary

WSP in Newcastle is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3-7 years' mining, industrial or infrastructure experience to join our Mining & Metals team. You will deliver electrical engineering designs for mining and infrastructure projects and grow toward a Senior Electrical Engineer role.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop power distribution concepts, support FEED and detailed design, and engage with clients while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years' experience within mining, industrial, infrastructure, energy or heavy industry environments.
• Experience designing electrical power systems and associated infrastructure.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering designs for mining, minerals processing, industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Assisting in the design and development of power distribution systems, substations, HV/LV systems and associated infrastructure.
• Supporting studies, concept development, FEED and detailed design activities.
• Coordinating with mechanical, structural, civil, process and control systems engineers to deliver integrated project outcomes.
• Participating in design reviews, risk assessments and safety-in-design workshops.
• Supporting site inspections, commissioning activities and construction-phase engineering services.
• Building strong relationships with clients through clear communication and reliable project delivery.
