Job summary

Randstad Australia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead major capital projects in a sustainable heavy manufacturing setting. You will deliver end-to-end electrical scope from concept through commissioning, reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, and guiding multidisciplinary contractors across a regional portfolio up to $100 million annually.

The role covers HV/LV power systems, substations, control systems, and safety in design, with opportunities to expand your skills

Qualifications

• 3+ years post-graduate experience in heavy industrial plant maintenance or capital project engineering.
• Experience with HV/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, protection systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, or DCS control architectures.
• Familiar with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS 2067 and Safety in Design.
• Ability to prepare project scopes, single-line diagrams, electrical estimating, and tender reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical capital projects from concept to handover.
• Develop layouts, SLDs, schematics, cable schedules per standards.
• Oversee HV/LV distribution networks, transformers, switchboards.
• Collaborate on PLC/SCADA/DCS integration and fault investigation.
• Manage RFQs, tender specs, and supervise site contractors.
