Job summary

MMT Recruitment's client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their small, agile team in Wickham, NSW. The role focuses on engineering management and equipment compliance across mining, container handling, and heavy industry sectors.

Travel regionally and internationally is required, and the candidate should be self‑motivated with strong technical expertise and WHS knowledge. The position offers exposure to diverse projects and a path toward asset management and reliability

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in electrical works (industrial/engineering).
• Experience with heavy industry electrical systems (mining and container handling).
• WHS legislation and Australian Standards knowledge for heavy industry.
• Mine site or container terminal operations experience (3+ years).
• Project management and supervision with budget and schedule development.
• Strong interpersonal communication and technical report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review engineering management and safety management system coordination.
• Conduct equipment compliance auditing to Australian and International Standards.
• Perform ongoing inspection and reporting of critical infrastructure including container cranes.
• Lead technological improvement projects and small works packages.
• Develop equipment specifications and support asset management projects.
• Provide onsite engineering support, relief work, and statutory engineering coverage.
• Create budget estimates and project scoping for engineering initiatives.
• Facilitate and review risk assessments across multiple client sites.
• Support mobile and fixed equipment procurement processes.
