Job summary

GR Production Services seeks an Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership across electrical systems, projects and assets in energy and resources. You will help transition projects into safe, reliable operations and support asset performance across gas, renewables and storage portfolios.

The role focuses on delivering LV/HV designs, integration of renewables and BESS, and maintaining technical documentation, while mentoring engineering teams in a collaborative Brisbane office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, with RPEQ registration.
• 10+ years in Electrical Engineering with LV design and project engineering experience; HV systems.
• Experience with control systems (SCADA, PLC, HMI) and troubleshooting.
• Experience delivering work packages for Australian oil and gas projects.
• Strong stakeholder and risk management across corporate, engineering and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead LV/HV electrical design from 1kV to 275kV across FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
• Deliver renewable and storage integration: wind, solar and BESS changeovers.
• Oversee switchboard/switchgear inspections, FAT/SAT, audits, HV switching and electrical safety.
• Act as Electrical Technical Authority; set standards, asset strategies, maintenance and obsolescence.
• Lead capital works and asset improvements: scopes, tenders, fault analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain drawings and docs; provide technical reports and mentor engineers and ops teams.
• Champion safety and environmental compliance and uphold values.

About the Role

The Electrical Engineer will provide technical knowledge across electrical systems, projects and operational assets, supporting the successful transition of projects into safe, reliable and efficient operations. This role will help shape engineering strategy, support capital project development, reduce downtime and drive long-term asset reliability and performance across a diverse portfolio, including gas generation, renewables and BESS.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Design & Delivery – Lead LV/HV electrical design from 1kV to 275kV, supporting FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
• Renewable & Storage Integration – Deliver generator, multi-source changeover, wind, solar and BESS integration solutions.
• Testing & Compliance – Oversee switchboard/switchgear inspections, FAT/SAT, compliance audits, HV switching and electrical safety requirements.
• Technical & Asset Leadership – Act as Electrical Technical Authority, govern engineering standards, asset strategies, maintenance, reliability, obsolescence and MOC.
• Projects & Reliability – Lead capital works and asset improvements, including specifications, scopes, tender evaluations, fault investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Engineering Governance & Capability – Maintain technical documentation and drawings, provide technical reporting and advice, and mentor engineers and operational teams.
• Safety & Culture – Champion health, safety and environmental compliance and uphold organisational values

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent, with RPEQ registration.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role, with strong experience in LV detailed design and project engineering for mid-level roles, extending to HV power systems and protection coordination for senior position and hazardous area compliance.
• Demonstrated experience with control systems, including SCADA, PLC and HMI, together with strong troubleshooting capability.
• Proven experience delivering packages of work within Australian oil and gas projects, including coordinating field personnel and contractors.
• Strong stakeholder management and risk management skills, with the ability to work effectively across corporate, engineering and field-based teams.
