Job summary

Mission Critical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead data centre electrical systems integration in Sydney. You will design and supervise complex electrical solutions, coordinate with HVAC and fire protection, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

The role emphasizes project management, on-site commissioning, and close collaboration with clients and consultants. Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit), knowledge of BMS, ASHRAE, and building codes are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years in electrical data centre (or mission critical) design
• Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit) and knowledge of BMS
• Familiarity with ASHRAE and local building codes
• Strong problem-solving, project management and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical system integration across full project lifecycle from site assessments to commissioning
• Develop and coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems including technical drawings and specs
• Support tender documentation, construction design, value engineering and client approvals
• Review and coordinate consultant design packages for technical compliance and alignment with schedules
• Provide on-site engineering support during commissioning and as-built documentation reviews

Location: Sydney

Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 + super and up to 50% bonus potential

Overview

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in leading electrical system integration for data centres, or similarly complex, mission critical buildings?

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical engineering across the full project lifecycle, from initial site assessments and equipment cost planning through to design development, construction support and project completion.
• Develop and coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, including technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Support tender documentation, construction design, value engineering and client approval processes.
• Review and coordinate consultant design packages to ensure technical compliance and alignment with project schedules.
• Provide on-site engineering support during commissioning, final inspections and as-built documentation reviews.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years in electrical data centre (or mission critical) design
• Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit)
• Knowledge of BMS
