Job summary

Gransolar Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead detailed engineering of energy storage and solar PV projects in Australia. You will ensure safe electrical integration, meet regulatory standards, and coordinate with internal teams across development, tendering, execution and operations.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience, a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, and intermediate AutoCAD skills.

Qualifications

• Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree required.
• Chartered Engineer with RPEng or equivalent desirable.
• 5–7 years’ experience in related field.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (intermediate).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise during detailed engineering of energy storage and solar projects.
• Ensure the safe integration of electrical systems into project designs.
• Lead and manage technical review and verification of electrical design documents.
• Certify internally produced documentation per industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review technical specifications, drawings and system manuals from suppliers.
• Evaluate technical proposals to continuously improve energy storage and solar solutions.
• Provide engineering support for BESS and PV projects across development, tendering, execution and operations.
• Ensure design meets safety, environmental, construction, commissioning and operating requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, internal teams, vendors and consultants.

TheRole

Provide technical expertise during detailed engineering of energy storage and solar energy projects in order to meet project objectives, client requirements and regulatory standards.

Ensure the safe integration of the electrical system into final project designs, emphasizing technical, safety, and quality considerations while optimizing project schedule and cost-efficiency.

Lead and manage the technical review and verification of the electrical design documentation produced for the energy storage and solar PV projects.

Certify internally produced documentation according to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Review technical documentation, including specifications, engineering drawings, and system manuals from suppliers or third parties.

Provide and participate in the evaluation of technical proposals to ensure a continuous improvement of the energy storage and solar PV solutions within the company.

Provide engineering support for BESS and PV projects and collaborate with the internal departments involved in project phases as development, tendering, execution and operations.

Ensure that the design conforms to all safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operating requirements.

Participate in the definition and design of the electrical system of the energy storage and PV projects of the company, including DC system, LV system, MV system and interfacing with HV design and grid connection.

Participate, and promote project technical solutions to ensure compliance with all technical, safety, and regulation requirements, including certification process of the documentation.

Participate in the communication with project stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, vendors, subcontractors and consultants.

Be part of a proactive identification of project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues that may affect project delivery.

Proactively participate in the communication within the different engineering teams in Australia and Spain, encouraging a proactive approach to the design activities. Ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing between teams to optimize project outcomes.

Assist the Procurement team with technical validations to ensure that purchased materials and services meet project requirements.

Participate in meetings with the Client to explain the design, resolve doubts, and provide clarifications to ensure client satisfaction and project success.

Requirements:

Electrical / Electronic Engineering Degree.

Chartered Engineer with RPEng or similar is desirable.

Between 5 -7 years’ experience.

Availability to travel for Sites visits and meetings with clients and suppliers.

AutoCAD – Intermediate.
