Job summary

SCRR Electrical Pty Ltd in Queensland is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on design, verification and support of low-voltage switchboards and power distribution systems, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS 61439 and relevant Australian Standards.

You will design schematics, perform calculations, and develop BOMs and documentation while liaising with customers, consultants and project managers to deliver projects on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum two years' experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience designing low-voltage switchboards.
• Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439 and relevant Australian standards.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Job Description

SCRR ELECTRICAL Position Summary SCRR Electrical Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the design, engineering, verification and technical support of low-voltage electrical switchboards and associated power distribution systems. The role requires a high level of technical knowledge to ensure products comply with AS/NZS 61439 and other relevant Australian Standards while supporting efficient manufacturing and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop low-voltage electrical switchboards and power distribution systems.
• Prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, general arrangements and engineering documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations including load calculations, short-circuit withstand verification, temperature rise assessments and protection coordination.
• Verify switchboard designs for compliance with AS/NZS 61439 and other applicable Australian Standards. Review customer specifications and develop compliant engineering solutions. Liaise with customers, consultants and project managers regarding technical requirements.
• Provide engineering support to the manufacturing team throughout the production process. Develop bills of materials and technical documentation for manufacturing. Assist with FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), commissioning support and fault investigation.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design, manufacturing and product performance. Support quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with company procedures. Provide technical guidance to production staff and junior engineering personnel when required.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification. Minimum two years' experience in electrical engineering. Experience in the design of low-voltage electrical switchboards or industrial power distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439 and relevant Australian electrical standards. Ability to perform electrical calculations and engineering verification. Experience interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Skills

• Experience using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar electrical design software. Knowledge of Schneider, ABB, Terasaki or other major LV switchgear products. Experience with protection coordination studies and power system analysis.
• Experience within an electrical switchboard manufacturing environment.
